Prototron brings youngsters closer to business through a technological competition

Prototron has supported the implementation of smart ideas from 2012, now it is launching a fund for youngsters to provide them a practical business experience through the implementation of technical solutions. The application round of the fund Prototron Junior will open today at midnight on www.prototron.ee.

“Innovation and entrepreneurship is not just for adults. At Prototron Junior we show young people how to turn cool ideas into reality with the help of modern technology and different business elements. We give the next generation the opportunity to experience a genuine innovation environment and experience of success. We believe that this will inspire more and more young people to go into entrepreneurship in the future, “explained Jana Budkovskaja, CEO of Prototron.

Prototron Junior is an educational competition format for young people aged between 13-19. With the help of mentors, youngsters have the opportunity to test and implement their ideas and solutions. In order to participate, youngsters must submit an application on www.prototron.ee and introduce their idea on how to solve some everyday life problems with the help of technology. 20 ideas move on to a program where youngsters develop their idea with the help of mentors into a phase that it can actually be implemented.

“The top 5 will reach the finals and they will receive a credit of 500 euros for the implementation of their prototype. The finalists will be able to present their ideas at the end of January next year. The winner of the main prize will be announced on the main stage of sTARTUp Day together with the winners of the Prototron autumn round.

“From the beginning, we put youngsters in the same situation as adults coming to Prototron. With various support services, we show that we are really supporting them in implementing a cool and necessary idea. At the same time, we also expect to take responsibility and the will to go until the end with their idea,” Budkovskaja said.

The launch of Prototron Junior will take place on September 25 at the AHHAA Science Center in Tartu from 22.30-22.45. Applications can be submitted from midnight on www.prototron.ee.
